Typinator 5.7 enhances dynamic input fields with default values

Hagenberg, Austria: September 24, 2013 - Ergonis Software today announced the release of Typinator 5.7, a new version of their popular text expander.

With interactive input fields, Typinator offers a very flexible concept, where expansions can contain variable parts that are dynamically asked for when an abbreviation is used. This is a great way to create highly versatile text expansions like customizable mail templates, snippets for quick currency conversions, and many other use cases. The new version enhances this feature with optional default values. If a default value is present, Typinator always presets the input field with the specified string, instead of what the user entered the last time. This is particularly convenient for variable parts that will have the same content most of the time with occasional variations.

Typinator 5.7 also improves its Quick Search feature by allowing the capitalization of the search string to determine the result of abbreviations with the "Case affects expansion" attribute.

The new version improves cursor positioning in certain Cocoa applications when the expansion ended with line breaks and it contains many enhancements to improve compatibility with third-party applications like IntelliJ, PhpStorm, WebStorm and PyCharm, Microsoft Word and others.

Typinator is a powerful, yet elegantly simple solution that boosts your productivity by automating the process of inserting frequently used text and auto-correcting typing errors. Across all applications, it detects specific sequences of typed characters and automatically replaces them with text snippets, graphics, URLs, dates and special characters.
