A text expander, also called a text replacement tool, replaces short abbreviations with longer text you use often. You type a few characters. Typinator expands them into emails, addresses, code, or templates. You type less and make fewer mistakes.

How easy is it to get started with Typinator?

Download Typinator. Grant the required macOS accessibility permissions. Start typing abbreviations right away. A built-in tutorial set helps you learn the basics in minutes.

Does Typinator work on iOS?

Yes. Typinator is available on iPhone and iPad as of Typinator 10. On iOS, abbreviations sync via iCloud. iOS access requires an Advanced or Business plan.

Does Typinator keep my data private and secure?

Typinator stores all abbreviations and sets locally on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to ergonis servers. On iOS, abbreviations sync exclusively via iCloud. ergonis has no access to that data at any point. This architecture is compatible with GDPR requirements for data minimization and data sovereignty. ergonis Software holds ISO 27001 certification.
