About Beta Testing

Beta versions are pre-release versions of our products that have passed many internal tests without encountering serious problems. However, beta testing any new product is always potentially risky. We therefore recommend that you back up your system and your valuable documents regularly before and during your testing activities.

Beta versions of our products are configured to expire at a fixed date. To find out when the current beta version will expire, see the message at the bottom of the main window or in the About window. When a beta version expires, we will already have a newer beta version or the final version available for downloading. In addition to the expiration date, beta versions will always perform automatic checks for newer versions on a daily basis to make sure that you always test with the most recent versions. If you do not feel comfortable with this behavior, please do not download and install a beta version.

Please note that the documentation of beta versions may not be up-to-date. Often, beta versions will still contain the documentation that came with the previous official release. Instead, beta versions will come with a short ReadMe document that explains what you need to know for testing.
