ergonis software announces KeyCue for Mac OS X - find and learn menu shortcuts

Hagenberg, April-30-2004, ergonis software today announced the release of KeyCue(TM), a new addition to it's popular macility software collection.

Menu shortcuts are supposed to provide quick access to frequently used menu commands. But in practice, most users only know just a few menu shortcuts, passing up this chance for productivity enhancement. This is where KeyCue comes in. KeyCue is a simple utility application that helps you find, remember and learn keyboard shortcuts for menu items. Just hold down the Command key for a while to see a table of all currently available menu shortcuts.

"Did you know that the average Mac OS X application has about 40 menu shortcuts? Apple's Mail, for example, can have even 80 or more menu shortcuts, depending on the current situation. KeyCue is for menu shortcuts what PopChar is for special characters. A simple and unobtrusive utility that makes your daily work easier and automatically enhances your productivity," said Guenther Blaschek, CTO of ergonis software.

"But KeyCue is not only useful for finding menu shortcuts. After having used KeyCue ourselves for a while, we were surprised about the multitude of menu commands in many applications. Since some of these commands are buried in submenus, we were not even aware that they existed," said Christoph Reichenberger, founder and CEO of ergonis software. "KeyCue did not only help us to work more effectively by using menu shortcuts, it even told us many hidden features of various applications. It's unbelievable how helpful such a small utility can be!"

About KeyCue

In a typical Mac OS X application, the most frequently needed menu items have keyboard shortcuts that let you access these menu items faster. Many applications have 40 or more menu shortcuts. Menu shortcuts may be convenient to use, but you first need to memorize them, and you must remember all of them correctly in order not to make mistakes that may lead to undesired results.

KeyCue is a simple, unobtrusive utility application that helps you find, remember, and learn menu shortcuts. Just hold down the Command key for a while - KeyCue comes to help and shows a table of all currently available menu shortcuts. When you have found the desired shortcut in the KeyCue table, just type it and continue working as usual. The KeyCue window will disappear automatically.

Over time, you will automatically remember frequently used shortcuts and become a power user of your favorite applications, working much more efficiently.
